Kevin’s
first season as a Supersonic was pretty good for him, averaging 20 points and 4
rebounds a game and he won NBA Rookie of the Year. On the other hand, the
teamed could barely win games. They only won 20 games Durant’s first year
playing. The following year the team’s owner Clay Bennett made some changes. He
moved the team to Oklahoma City. The new team was now the Oklahoma City
Thunder.
The Oklahoma City drafted and acquired a few
good players and the team became better. They ended the season with 50 plus
wins and made the playoffs in the process.
Kevin begin to make his
mark, he became a leader the Thunder very quickly. Becoming the go to guy, eyes
were on when games were close. He often made clutch shots and scored points to
put them in a position to win the game. Averaging an amazing 30 points per game
at 21 years old, Kevin Durant became the youngest player in NBA history to win
the Scoring Title. He also set a team franchise record with 2, 472 points.
During the 2011-12
basketball seasons Kevin went on a tear, scoring his career high of 51 points
against the Denver Nuggets. Up until now, KD has some had some major
accomplishments and achievements he has accomplished throughout his entire
basketball career. His career is far from over and is already considered one of
the best basketball players in the world, and eventually will be one of the
greatest of all time.
